Longford Women’s Link

Longford Women’s Link (LWL) is a social enterprise founded in 2005 to provide education and training opportunities for women. It has since grown into a key organisation advocating for women’s rights and supporting women, their families, and the wider community through services including community education, domestic violence support, counselling, and pathways to employment and self-employment.

LWL delivers its programmes through an Integrated Model of Service Delivery, recognising the complex nature of disadvantage and the need for holistic support. Each year, over 400 learners participate in training at its QQI-accredited Women’s Community Education Centre, including third-level outreach delivered with partners, encouraging women to engage in innovative and flexible learning pathways.

LWL has also established and manages the Rural Migrant Women’s Network, extending its services and impact to migrant women in rural communities by providing targeted support, fostering inclusion, and strengthening their social and economic participation.
